This is what I've been working on for the past few weeks. It's fan art of an incredible movie, that most of you have probably never seen- Barbie Island Princess. I know most Direct to Video movies suck, but Barbie Island Princess has such wonderful songs, it reminds me of classic Disney princess movies like The Little Mermaid or Cinderella. I drew this in a somewhat chibi style, because I wanted to see how the characters would look like in that style. Drawn with paper, pencil and a mouse in Photoshop CS2 and Corel Painter 8. Barbie is a copyright of Mattel.
That's different, they usually pick second-string composers and lyricists for direct-to-video productions.

I like how this girl looks nothing like the Barbie she's supposed to be. I also really like the peacock tail....I wonder, is that just part of her dress, or part of her? (I have a couple of pictures of "Pavonians") Anyways, nice art!
I know. Most direct-to-video movies have lame songs. But this one is so good! The song when Ro reunites with her mother was so moving, it brought me to tears. I know all the songs by memory, and my daughter and I sing them together.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
